Basketball Recap: Devin Craig Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Lapel won the last time they faced Northeastern and things went their way on Friday too. The Lapel Bulldogs walked away with a 66-58 win over the Northeastern Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Lapel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devin Craig, who went 7 of 11 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Those 24 points gave Craig a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Wilkins, who posted nine points and eight assists.

When it comes to explaining why Northeastern lost, don't look at Noah Payne. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 16 on his way to 19 points. With that strong performance, Payne is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Tre Vanlandingham was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 13 points.

Lapel has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Northeastern, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-1.

Lapel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 79-52 victory against Daleville on the 25th. Northeastern has also already played their next game, a 66-45 win against Franklin County on the 25th.
