Centura is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Ord is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Centura Centurions will take on the Ord Chanticleers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centura will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Ord is ranked 18th).
Centura fell victim to Kearney Catholic's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 27-0 loss at the hands of the Stars.
Meanwhile, Ord's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 21-14 win over Broken Bow.
Trent Mccain was his usual excellent self, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Mccain was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Ord's win bumped their season record to 6-2 while Centura's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Centura has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ord struggles in that department as they've been even better at 288.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Centura took a serious blow against Ord in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 43-16. Will Centura have more luck at home instead of on the road?
