I Section IV recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in I Section IV this week, Mountain Pointe beat Corona del Sol 63-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Pride.
Mountain Pointe took down the Aztecs 63-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Antonio Hinojosa threw for 200 yards and 4 touchdowns during the win.
He went 6-6 with 0 interceptions.
Hinojosa put up the best numbers through the air as Norris Vaughan's team beat Corona del Sol. Hinojosa's favorite target this week was Jalen Brown, who caught 4 passes for 137 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Pride's Hinojosa and Brown have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Hinojosa has thrown for 1,351 yards this season, while Brown has 33 catches for 719 yards. Ryan Velez from Brophy College Prep leads the league in rushing with 693 yards.
The Broncos are currently in fourth, while Dobson is in third.
The Mustangs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,207 from 8,896. The advance stemmed from a 21-10 victory over Dobson last week.
