 At the plate,  Leah Shorts and  Khloe Summit stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Shorts  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI, while  Summit  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.  Chloe Richmond was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Waldron was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .438. The last time their  batting average was this high was  since  the start of last season.
Waldron's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Elkins, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldron will venture away from home to  face off against Centerpoint  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Elkins, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Fayetteville  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
