Make it five blowout wins for the Washington County Golden Hawks this season. They really took it to Glenn Hills for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-35 win on the road. Given Washington County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Glenn Hills is ranked 491st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brashod Heggs, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Heggs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marquavion Cooper, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Washington County and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Glenn Hills, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Washington County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Thomson at 8:30 p.m. Thomson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Glenn Hills, they will head out on the road to take on Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Butler's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Glenn Hills has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
