Randleman is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Montgomery Central is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Randleman Tigers will host the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Randleman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Randleman will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Eastern Randolph, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Randleman came out on top against Eastern Randolph by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Kaylee Phillips was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Roach, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Randleman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern Randolph struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Montgomery Central's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Thursday. They came up short against Randleman, falling 12-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Timberwolves were not able to get on the board.
Montgomery Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rileigh Spivey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Spivey's first of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Montgomery Central fell to 5-1. As for Randleman, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Randleman's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. Randleman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Montgomery Central, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Randleman continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Randleman's way against Montgomery Central when the teams last played on Thursday, as Randleman made off with a 12-0 victory. Will Randleman repeat their success, or does Montgomery Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
