Jefferson is 0-10 against El Paso since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jefferson Silver Foxes will look to defend their home court against the El Paso Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Jefferson has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
Jefferson suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Chapin on the road and fell 51-12. Jefferson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.
Meanwhile, El Paso was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 38-32 to Andress.
Despite the loss, El Paso got a solid performance out of Amaris Ambriz, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That was a full 56.3% of El Paso's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Aragon, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Jefferson's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-20. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for El Paso, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-8 record this season.
Jefferson was taken down by El Paso 65-18 in their previous matchup on January 9th. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jefferson was down 36-3.
