Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laton). They blew past the Sierra Chieftains 8-1 on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.
Laton's offense was hitting Sierra from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Luis Montes De Oca led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.
Laton moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Sierra, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laton will venture away from home to face off against Central Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sierra, they will head out on the road to challenge Chowchilla at 5:45 p.m. on January 14th.
