Hamburg is a perfect 10-0 against Conrad Weiser since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hawks will welcome the Scouts at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hamburg's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Wyomissing 9-0. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Meanwhile, Conrad Weiser hadn't done well against Governor Mifflin recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Scouts were the clear victors by a 23-8 margin over the Mustangs. The win was familiar territory for the Scouts, who have now won three contests in a row.
Macy Snyder made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Conrad Weiser got a massive performance out of Madison Derfler, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 5-for-5. Those four stolen bases gave Derfler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Trevena, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.
Conrad Weiser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .657. They are 6-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hamburg's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Conrad Weiser, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Conrad Weiser's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hamburg has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Conrad Weiser, though, as they've been averaging 11.4 hits. Given Hamburg's sizable advantage in that area, the Scouts will need to find a way to close that gap.
