Barker proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 12) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Alexander Trojans. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 11-6 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Mady Flint made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Barker has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alexander, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Barker will face off against Royalton-Hartland at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Alexander, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Attica at 5:00 p.m.
