In what's become a running theme this season, the Mesquite Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Arcadia 83-44 at home. Winning may never get old, but Mesquite sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Mesquite's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Navae Guidry, who scored 19 points. Guidry hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Sepulveda, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Arcadia still got an impressive performance from Tianna Knighton, who scored 38 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 86.4% of Arcadia's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mesquite has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Arcadia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Mesquite will face off against Marcos de Niza at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marcos de Niza has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Arcadia, they will be playing at home against Seton Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seton Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Arcadia in Arizona (Seton Catholic is ranked 14th, while Arcadia is ranked 197th).
