Central Cabarrus is 1-9 against Northwest Cabarrus since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Vikings will take on the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Central Cabarrus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Hickory Ridge hit Central Cabarrus with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 8-2 to the Ragin' Bulls.

Central Cabarrus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andre Vaughn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

South Rowan hit Northwest Cabarrus with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost six in a row.

Central Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Central Cabarrus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northwest Cabarrus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Central Cabarrus couldn't quite get it done against Northwest Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
