Lubbock is 0-1 against Wylie since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lubbock Westerners will be playing at home against the Wylie Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Lubbock: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Wylie has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Lubbock took a serious blow against Plainview, falling 41-12. Lubbock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Meanwhile, Wylie suffered a rough 34-14 defeat at the hands of Rider on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Wylie had strong showings from Malachi Daniels, who rushed for 102 yards, and Julius Laine, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown. Daniels is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
The losses dropped Lubbock to 2-5 and Wylie to 4-3.
