Basketball Recap: South Bend Washington Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

South Bend Washington extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Steven Reynolds. The South Bend Washington Panthers blew past the Jimtown Jimmies 82-58 on Saturday thanks in part to Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South Bend Washington's points.

Gabe Burgin was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played.

Several Jimmies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Branden King, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Edward Potter, who posted nine points.

South Bend Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Jimtown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Bend Washington will head out to face off against Mishawaka Marian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mishawaka Marian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season. As for Jimtown, they are taking a road trip to square off against Elkhart Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jimtown is facing Elkhart Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Elkhart Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
