The Phoenix Falcons and the Kalamazoo HomeSchool Cougars will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Monday.
Phoenix's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on January 6th after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 79-39 loss at the hands of L'Anse Creuse. While losing is never fun, Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while L'Anse Creuse is ranked 256th).
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Kalamazoo HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. Their tough 63-39 loss to Northside L might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kalamazoo HomeSchool has scored all season.
Phoenix's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Kalamazoo HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2.
Phoenix strolled past Kalamazoo HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 85-70. Does Phoenix have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kalamazoo HomeSchool turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
