The Jackson Vikings will be playing at home against the Chelsea Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Jackson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 79-55 margin over Pinckney. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Pinckney is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson can attribute much of their success to Sherquan Wilson, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Koronnis Davis, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Chelsea came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Adrian by a score of 70-62.
The win makes it two in a row for Jackson and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Chelsea, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Jackson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-43 loss to Chelsea in their previous meeting back in January.
