Nevada Union has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Oakmont Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Nevada Union came up short against Placer and fell 35-28.
Despite their defeat, Nevada Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Liam Crossen, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Max Mcmaster, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Oakmont, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 16-13.
Despite the defeat, Oakmont got a solid performance out of Luke Scott, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
Nevada Union has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Oakmont, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Nevada Union against Oakmont when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 53-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nevada Union since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
