The Concord Spiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-50 win over South Rowan. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Concord considering their 25-point performance the match before.
Concord found their leader in underclassman Myajah Nix, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nix has scored at least 25% of Concord's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Williams, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kynlee Dextraze, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Dextraze continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Morgan, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Concord's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for South Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Concord will head out on the road to face off against Central Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Cabarrus is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for South Rowan, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. Lake Norman Charter is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
