It was a good run, but the Delaware County Christian Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Sun Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delaware County Christian in their matchups with the Vanguards: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Jameson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jameson posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Gaines, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Delaware County Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for Sun Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Delaware County Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MAST Community Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Knights are ranked 175th). As for Sun Valley, they will be playing at home against the Rockets at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Science Leadership Academy at Beeber is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season.
