Leading Winside to victory were Ellie Topp and Hadleigh Schutt. Topp dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Schutt scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Topp has scored all season.
St. Edward's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Winside, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
St. Edward will head out on the road to face off against Burwell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Burwell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Edward in Nebraska (Burwell is ranked 131st, while St. Edward is ranked 280th). As for Winside, they will play host again and welcome Tri County Northeast, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Thursday. Tri County Northeast is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
