Despite the loss, Elk Grove saw an underclassman step up: Liam Acido scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Acido has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of KyRee Fultz, who scored 13 points.
Elk Grove has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Franklin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will take on Pleasant Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to challenge Sheldon at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Sheldon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
