If Gaston were riding high off their 29-8 takedown of Portland Christian last Friday, that ride came to an abrupt end. Gaston took a hard 14-34 fall against Knappa. If Gaston were hoping to take revenge for the 0-50 defeat against Knappa the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The loss dropped Gaston's record to 2-5. The victory bumped Knappa's record up to 6-1.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Gaston take on Warrenton at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Knappa, they will face off against Nestucca. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
