Basketball Recap: Northampton County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Northampton County managed to keep up with J.H. Rose until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Northampton County Jaguars lost 76-51 to the J.H. Rose Rampants. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jiyoun Williams, who posted eight points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. Gmarcus Faison was another key player, putting up ten points.

Northampton County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for J.H. Rose, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton County will challenge Rocky Mount Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for J.H. Rose, they will face off against Havelock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in J.H. Rose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
