Football Recap: Westwood Skates Past Spring Valley with Ease

While Westwood put up some points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Spring Valley. The Redhawks took their contest with ease, bagging a 31-0 win over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Redhawks, who have now won four games by 31 points or more so far this season.

Quentin McGill Jr had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Those 94 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Westwood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.7 points on average over those games. As for Spring Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Westwood and Spring Valley will both be playing Lugoff-Elgin the next time they take the field. The Redhawks will host the Demons at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
