Wisner-Pilger is 9-1 against Stanton since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The pair will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Wisner-Pilger and seven for Stanton dating back to last season.
Wisner-Pilger's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Wayne 69-33 on Friday. Wisner-Pilger has not had much luck with Wayne recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Stanton took a serious blow against Pender on Saturday, falling 61-18. While losing is never fun, Stanton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Pender is ranked 111th).
Wisner-Pilger's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Stanton, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Wisner-Pilger against Stanton in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 69-40 victory. Does Wisner-Pilger have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stanton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
