Clear Creek has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Platte Canyon Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Clear Creek came up short against Vail Christian and fell 56-43. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clear Creek in their matchups with Vail Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tyler O'Brien, who scored 20 points along with 4 steals. He scored a full 46.5% of Clear Creek's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zephyr Schuessler, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Platte Canyon had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 41-31 to Colorado Springs School.
Platte Canyon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexander Thoms, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds, and Max Flores who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
The losses dropped Clear Creek to 0-2 and Vail Christian to 1-1.
Clear Creek and Platte Canyon were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but Clear Creek came up empty-handed after a 39-38 loss. Thankfully for Clear Creek, Grant Culpepper (who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
