After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rocky Mount Academy, the Fayetteville Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They strolled past Faith Christian with points to spare, taking the game 43-29. Fayetteville Academy pushed the score to 41-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.
Fayetteville Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Duchon, who scored 16 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Duchon has scored at least a third of Fayetteville Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Polly Miller, who scored 15 points.
Fayetteville Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayetteville Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Faith Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Christian HomeSchool will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
