The Live Oak Acorns are on the road again  on Friday and play against the James Lick Comets at 7:00  p.m.  on December 15th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Live Oak pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a   63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monte Vista Christian. While losing is never fun, Live Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 1158th, while Monte Vista Christian is ranked 441st).
 The losing side was boosted by   Austin Jennings, who  scored 25 points along with eight  rebounds. The  matchup was  his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Nathan Lozano, who  scored nine points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals.
 Meanwhile,  this season hasn't been kind to James Lick, who are still winless after their eighth game. They fell just short of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit by a score of  60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for James Lick, their defeat was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  bumped their record down to 0-8.
 Live Oak took their  win against James Lick  when the teams last played  back in February of 2020 by a conclusive  70-49. Will Live Oak repeat their success,  or does  James Lick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
