The Ravenscroft Ravens had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 35-34 victory over North Raleigh Christian Academy. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Ravenscroft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Whitehead, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Bryan Copeland was another key contributor, picking up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, North Raleigh Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Davin Mccoy rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Mcdonald, who picked up 46 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ravenscroft's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely North Raleigh Christian Academy, Wake Christian Academy, and GRACE Christian. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Ravenscroft will head out on the road to face off against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Friday. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. North Raleigh Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
