Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences was the victim of a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of Northridge Academy on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences in their matchups with Northridge Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences still got an impressive performance from Vincenz Alcala, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alcala has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jahangir Tareen, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Northridge Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Vaughn at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Northridge Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sherman Oaks CES's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
