The Bayfield Wolverines were the 32-21 winner over the Dolores Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bayfield fell to Dolores 28-23.
When it comes to explaining why Bayfield lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Renae Foutz. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Foutz scored a full 56.5% of Bayfield's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dolores, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Bayfield will head out on the road to face off against Telluride at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dolores is on the road again on Friday and play against De Beque at 1:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully De Beque focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
