It was a good run, but the Southern Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They suffered a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Fort Hill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southern has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Southern lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Keller. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braige Hardesty, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Fort Hill, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will take on the Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Fort Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Northern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Sentinels are ranked 65th).
