Last Friday, Salisbury Township took a serious blow against Palmerton, falling 60-20. While losing is never fun, Salisbury Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Palmerton is ranked 146th).
Despite the loss, Salisbury Township had strong showings from Jamanni Cruz, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a touchdown, and George Spann, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown. Cruz's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards.
Meanwhile, Pine Grove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Tamaqua 42-3. Pine Grove has struggled against Tamaqua recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losses dropped Salisbury Township to 0-7 and Pine Grove to 1-6.
Salisbury Township came up short against Pine Grove when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 23-13. Thankfully for Salisbury Township, Mason Kroh (who rushed for 55 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
