The Western Beaver Golden Beavers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-35 victory over Cornell. This was payback for Western Beaver, who suffered a 39-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Western Beaver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jon Backur led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Backur has scored all season. Nathan Schwarz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Western Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Cornell, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Western Beaver will take on Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rochester will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Western Beaver surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cornell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlynton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
