Clay has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Ross has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Eagles will host the Little Giants at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clay took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Perrysburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Yellow Jackets 4-3.
Meanwhile, Ross was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They blew past St. Joseph Central Catholic 11-3.
Brooklyn Berndt made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Rubi Almaguer was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Lilly Halbeisen was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Ross hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Central Catholic struck out 13 times.
Ross' win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Clay, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Clay got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Ross by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Little Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
