Hillcrest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Lakeland 35-14. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Tyson Sweetwood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 99 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 83 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Tate Prince was another key player, gaining 86 total yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hillcrest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Twin Falls faced Century in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bruins took down the Diamondbacks 22-7. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Diamondbacks: they've now won three in a row.
Hillcrest better keep an eye on Jackson Sattelberg. He was instrumental in Twin Falls' win, rushing for 80 yards and one TD, while also picking up 34 receiving yards.
Twin Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Alex Johnson, Draikyn Ferreira, and Dax Payne picked up one apiece.
Hillcrest's record now sits at 10-1. As for Twin Falls, their record is now 9-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Hillcrest has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Twin Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hillcrest took their victory against Twin Falls in their previous meeting back in October by a conclusive 49-28 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
