The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hopewell, who took down 111th ranked Ambridge, 10-6. Adam Murray ran for 101 yards and caught one passes for two yards in the win.
Andrew Koester and Zech Medved provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Steel Valley. The connection was good for 87 yards, the longest such play in WPIAL AAA Parkway this season.
West Allegheny's dynamic duo of Koester and Medved proved tough for the Ironmen to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Koester threw for 310 yards and one touchdown and Medved had 134 yards receiving. Armonde Dellovade helped West Allegheny's passing attack out by catching two balls for 101 yards.
Cole Chiappialle was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 239 yards on 17 carries as Blackhawk topped Steel Valley. Austin Javens also contributed to the rushing game with seven yards on the ground.
Blackhawk's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chandler Kincade has thrown for 1249 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Alex Caratelli has 40 catches for 650 yards. Chiappialle leads the league in rushing with 832 yards.
A big matchup in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week will be when West Allegheny takes on New Castle. As it stands, Bob Palko's team is in second, while the Hurricanes are in fourth.
The Vikings moved up to 128 from 154 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 10-6 win over the Bridgers helped Hopewell improve its standing.
