The Antioch Bears will take on the Cane Ridge Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Cane Ridge will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Antioch extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Bears put the hurt on Glencliff with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Bears have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Arianna Mitchell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mitchell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Maliyah Perry and Chiari Batey did most of the damage at the plate: Perry went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs, while Batey went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Perry a new career-high. Avah Haynie was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
Antioch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .882. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cane Ridge made easy work of University School of Nashville on Wednesday and carried off a 13-4 victory.
Jeriah Webb was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Busby, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
The win got Cane Ridge back to even at 3-3. As for Antioch, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Antioch has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .644. However, it's not like Cane Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .575. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Antioch took their win against Cane Ridge in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 20-5 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Ravens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
