The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions and the Hamilton Huskies squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions had to settle for second. They suffered a rough 4-1 loss at the hands of the Huskies. While losing is never fun, Mountain Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Hamilton is ranked eighth).
Mountain Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Hamilton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6-1.
Mountain Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to challenge Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
