Big VIII recap October 29, 2013
Centennial extended the longest winning streak in Big VIII this week by beating Roosevelt, 55-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Norco took down Corona 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Victor Viramontes threw for 84 yards and ran for 118 yards during the win.
Tanner Maddox threw for 361 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 28-42 with 1 interception.
Maddox put up the best numbers in passing as Santiago bested King. Maddox's favorite target this week was Brad Duran, who caught 7 passes for 117 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Makeen Farha. The King star has 48 catches for 849 yards.
Nick Gibson of the the Panthers is just 89 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 146 carries Gibson has accumulated 911 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Centennial takes on the Sharks. Matt Logan's team is currently in second, while Santiago is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Wolves take on the Cougars. King has allowed 205 points this season, while Norco has given up 194. Kevin Corridan's team allowed 51 points last week as it lost to Jeff Steinberg's team.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Huskies and the Sharks face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Centennial comes in having scored 402 this season, while Santiago has scored 353. The Huskies scored 55 points last week as they defeated Roosevelt.
Centennial led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on Tony Barile's team. Robert Webber threw for 289 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 15 yards in the win.
