Basketball Recap: Buchanan Skates Past New Buffalo with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buchanan). They claimed a resounding 47-11 win over the New Buffalo Bison. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bucks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2021.

Buchanan had a senior duo take command as Katie Ailes dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds and Alyssa Carson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ailes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Horvath, who posted seven points and four steals.

Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for New Buffalo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buchanan will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bridgman at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Bridgman will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Buchanan surely won't give up without a fight. New Buffalo also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Bangor at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. New Buffalo is facing Bangor at the right time seeing as Bangor is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
