The Montcalm Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by James Monroe 65-11. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Montcalm in their matchups with James Monroe: they've now lost seven in a row.
Leading James Monroe to victory were Maggie Boroski and Mary Beth Meadows. Boroski scored 15 points along with nine steals, while Meadows dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. Meadows is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mya Dunlap was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Montcalm has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for James Monroe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Montcalm will be playing at home against Meadow Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Meadow Bridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for James Monroe, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenbrier West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier West will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
