The Carroll Cougars will head out to challenge the North White Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Carroll and four for North White.
Rossville hit Carroll with a six-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Hornets, falling 12-2.
Carroll saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Kingery, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
North White had taken South Newton down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Vikings took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels.
Adriann Conn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avi Cain, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for North White, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
North White's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Carroll hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for North White, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Carroll's hitters?
Carroll suffered a grim 18-7 defeat to North White in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
