The Freeman Scotties will challenge the Liberty Lancers at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Freeman's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They put the hurt on Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna with a sharp 10-0 win. The Scotties' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kaylee Ripke made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rilyn Ripke was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Chloe Adams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Liberty got the win against Colfax on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. The Lancers have beaten the Bulldogs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.
Like Freeman, Liberty also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordyn Jeske. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Jeske was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Hofmann, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Haylee Mitzimberg was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colfax only posted an OBP of .200.
Freeman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both Freeman and Liberty just can't seem to miss. The Scotties have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
