The Twin Valley Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Rivendell Academy at 2:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Thursday, Twin Valley was the victim of a rough 54-28 loss at the hands of Green Mountain. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Twin Valley has suffered against Green Mountain since January 28, 2022.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brayden Brown, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Brown is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cody Magnant, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Twin Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rivendell Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Green Mountain by a score of 60-57.
Twin Valley's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-4. As for Rivendell Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Twin Valley took a serious blow against Rivendell Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 60-27. Can Twin Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
