Holmes dropped their record down to 5-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 17-0 to the Walton-Verona Bearcats. The Bulldogs were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Bearcats' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Walton-Verona, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-13 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Walton-Verona's part, they got a big performance out of Sophie Lepping, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Lepping a new career-high. Demi Lavon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmes will host Beechwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.88 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Walton-Verona, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. The Colonels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
