Lehi came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Copper Hills Grizzlies. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lehi had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-19.

Lehi's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paige Wakumoto, who had 32 digs and three aces. Wakumoto has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Morehead, who had ten digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Lehi was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Lehi's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Copper Hills, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehi will venture away from home to challenge Cedar Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Copper Hills, they will take on Corner Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
