The Block Bears pushed their score all the way to 32 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 74-32 loss at the hands of Delhi Charter. Block has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Delhi Charter to victory were Tayven Carter and Deandra Young. Carter rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Young gained 292 total yards and four touchdowns. Carter's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Maliky Dunn did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 98 receiving yards.
Block's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. As for Delhi Charter, the victory was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Block will take on Tensas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tensas comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Delhi Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Delta Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Delta Charter is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
