Basketball Recap: Lanier County Gets the Win

Lanier County lost to Atkinson County back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Lanier County Bulldogs walked away with a 39-31 victory over the Atkinson County Rebels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Lanier County now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Atkinson County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanier County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clinch County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinch County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Lanier County likes a good challenge. As for Atkinson County, they and Brooks County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
