The Silverado Hawks will head out to challenge the Barstow Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Silverado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Silverado barely beat Adelanto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 20-8 margin over the Saints on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.
Alexis Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Rodriguez was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Valerie Beltran was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Alyzzah Piceno was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Silverado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Barstow was a bit more limited in their matchup last Thursday. They lost 14-2 to Victor Valley.
Barstow has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Silverado, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Silverado got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Barstow by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
